What is the impact of your Father’s Day legacy? Will your child, or grandchild, be willing to pick up the mantle of God that you leave? Will they continue to walk in the Light of the Christ who died for them? It may be time to evaluate your legacy, for we are but “70 years, or 80 by strength..and they are soon gone, and we fly away.”
Brother Andy thank you for sharing this powerful message from such a personal time. As a father and grandfather I hope and pray that I leave “a mantle” behind, and that my children would lift it up when I am gone. God bless you today brother 🙏
Thank you Brother Alan. Our life in front of our children and grandchildren is so important. Thank you for you for loving the Lord as much as I do! God Bless!
This is so true for us grandparents. We hae the greatest riches to pass on to our grandchildren. These blessings come from the Word of God and will continue to bless all generations if they are willing to walk in God’s way. It’s an awesome responsibility.
You are absolutely correct! We certainly need daily constant prayer for our children and grands!
My father returned to God when I was 32. He was 85 and died of extensive cancer. But I do not dwell on that. I dwell on the fact that he left me with a perfect example of faith, which I now carry as an example to my children and grandchildren.
I am a retired literature professor; I never taught my students one word of the world’s great literature. What I did was explore each piece together. I learned as much as they did.
I am now a spiritual blog writer and chaplain to my local Marine Corps League. I do not preach, but I do lead by example.
I pray that my leading by example, as my father did, will enlighten my children and they will also walk in God’s light. So far, they are doing well!
Amen! So thankful for your Dad’s example and now yours to your children and grandchildren. I pray they shall be blessed and inspired by your legacy!
